Composite valved apico-aortic conduits for left ventricular outflow obstruction.

چکیده
Problems related to the left ventricular outflow tract are not always amenable to conven— tional surgical metiuxis. and in some cases may be solved with the creation of a double ouclet left ventricle, using a composite rigid pyrolitc lcÍt ventricular apex outlet prosthcsis and a fabric valve-containing conduit. The prilnary indicacion for apico—aortic conduirs is severe left ventricular outlet obstruc— tion that is not correctable by conventional surgical tecliniques. Failure to relieve ventricular hypertension causes persistent physiologic derangements that include increased left ventricu lar work and oxygen consumption. decreased cardiac output. and compromise of coronary perfusion. Our clinical experience in excess of -18 months with valved .ipicoaortic ccinduits for primaty or recurrenr left ventricular outflow rract obstructions has been promising and is described in this report.

The aortic translocation (Nikaidoh) procedure: midterm results superior to the Rastelli procedure.
OBJECTIVE Midterm follow-up is analyzed after the aortic translocation (Nikaidoh) procedure, an alternative to the Rastelli procedure for ventriculoarterial discordance, ventricular septal defect, and pulmonary stenosis. METHODS Nineteen patients underwent a Nikaidoh procedure at a median age of 3.3 years (0.9-9.3 years). The native aortic valve was translocated from the right to the left ven...
متن کاملHomograft replacement of aortic root with reimplantation of coronary arteries. Results after one to five years.
Between 1976 and 1980, 26 patients aged 7 to 36 years had complete replacement of the aortic root with a valved homograft into which the coronary arteries were reimplanted. The main indication was the tunnel type of obstruction combining a hypoplastic valve ring, often with supra and subvalvar stenosis. Nineteen had previous operations for congenital left ventricular outflow obstructions. There...
متن کاملLate results of right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction with Björk-Shiley valved conduits.
Between 1971 and December 1976, 27 children with congenital heart disease underwent right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction with conduits incorporating a Björk-Shiley valve. The conditions corrected were pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect (14 patients), truncus arteriosus (6 patients), and complex disease (7 patients). At operation the children were aged from 12 days to 16 ...
متن کاملApico-aortic conduit for severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: sudden death despite conduit patency 31 years postoperatively.
Although small experiences have been described with the use of apico-aortic valved conduit in the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), the long-term follow-up has never been previously reported. In a young female patient with symptomatic HCM and a prognostically unfavorable phenotype, apico-aortic conduit was chosen instead of conventional myectomy because severe ventricular hypertro...
متن کاملLong-term follow-up of patients with extracardiac valved conduits.
Seventeen patients having extracardiac valved conduits placed between the right ventricle and pulmonary artery were followed for 7 to 87 months postoperatively (mean, 42 months), at the Heart Institute, Kenritsu Amagasaki Hospital, Japan. There were no late deaths in the study group. Three conduits have been replaced, all because of conduit stenosis. In two-dimensional echocardiographic examina...
